Quality Assurance Lab Tech ll-3rd Shift
About The Position
The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a part-time 3rd Shift Quality Assurance Lab Technician II. This role is responsible for grading processed and raw fruit products according to standard operating procedures, recording, checking, and retrieving QA information. The technician will perform laboratory analyses on samples and related work for monitoring and sampling, ensuring timely and accurate documentation at the Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This is a swing shift part-time job, with full-time hours (40 hours) typically during the fresh pack season (July-November) and part-time hours when production is running off-season.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in food manufacturing quality assurance, food safety, or laboratory testing required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Strong understanding of GMPs, HACCP principles, CCPs, and food safety systems.
- Ability to independently perform routine QA testing, inspections, and verify compliance to specifications.
- Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and ability to communicate effectively across production and QA teams
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or coursework in food science, microbiology, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Promote Food Safety Culture as a top priority at all times and in all situations through consistent conversations, communications, and actions
- Independently perform QA testing and verification for Brix, pH, turbidity, viscosity, and other routine analyses
- Execute and own pre-op inspections, including documentation and release recommendation
- Conduct GMP audits and initiate immediate corrective actions on the floor
- Perform CCP and sanitation verifications; identify and respond to OOS conditions
