About The Position

The Neil Jones Food Company is seeking a part-time 3rd Shift Quality Assurance Lab Technician for their Northwest Packing plant in Vancouver, WA. This role is responsible for grading processed and raw fruit products according to standard operating procedures, recording and retrieving QA information, and performing laboratory analyses. The position ensures timely and accurate documentation. The schedule is 3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am), part-time throughout the year, but full-time during the fresh pack season (typically July – November) and when production is running off-season.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of office or manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of quality assurance procedures and protocols, attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, and understand English.
  • Requires walking, reaching with hands and arms; may climb or balance; may stoop, kneel or crouch. Climbing stairs and navigating under machinery/equipment.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, work 3rd shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am), and to work extended schedule and weekends during the fresh pack season, typically July to early November.

Responsibilities

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintains all required QA analysis documentation.
  • Performs laboratory analyses on samples and related work associated with monitoring and sampling; tests and inspects samples in various stages of production.
  • Ensures accurate and timely input of data to information systems and recommends and/or performs appropriate actions when data indicates unsatisfactory operations.
  • Notifies Lab Supervisors and Production Managers of any deviations of quality or safety factors.
  • Communicates effectively with managers, supervisors and mechanics in both written and spoken forms.
