About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintaining acceptable environmental conditions, and verifying product quality. The inspector will perform various quality assurance tasks, including checking ingredients, labels, lot numbers, code dates, and net weights. A key part of the role involves ensuring adherence to FDA and USDA regulations, managing cooking charts, yields, SSOP, and HACCP records. The position also requires following safety protocols, verifying thermometer accuracy, checking cooking and chilling temperatures, and collecting samples for testing. Additional duties include performing pre-op and maintenance inspections, assisting other quality assurance personnel and kitchen staff, evaluating variances using the "Quality Assurance Production" Process, and overseeing product manufacturing from raw material receiving to finished product shipping. The role also involves tasting and evaluating product samples, cross-training in lab responsibilities, understanding Deli Kitchen functions, processes, and procedures, and addressing any discrepancies.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

  • Perform room checks and cooler checks to ensure GMP compliance, acceptable environmental conditions, and product quality.
  • Perform quality assurance inspection tasks to include verification and tracking of correct product ingredients, labels, lot # and code date, net weights, etc.
  • Help ensure that each product is manufactured according to FDA and USDA regulations including, but not limited to maintaining cooking charts, yields, SSOP and HACCP records.
  • Follow all safety requirements and good manufacturing practices.
  • Verify thermometers accuracy.
  • Verify cooking and chilling temperatures.
  • Collect and package samples for testing.
  • Perform pre-op and maintenance inspections (as required).
  • Provide help to all associates in the quality assurance department and throughout the Kitchen.
  • Use the “Quality Assurance Production” Process to evaluate variances that arise to collect all the necessary information so the correct decision can be determined.
  • See that all products are manufactured under correct procedures from receiving of the raw materials to shipping of the finished product.
  • Taste and evaluate all product samples received.
  • Be cross trained in lab responsibilities.
  • Become familiar with Deli Kitchen functions.
  • Understand all Deli Kitchen processes and procedures and act upon discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
