About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector for the 1st Shift. This role is responsible for performing dimensional and visual inspections to ensure parts, tools, and equipment meet required standards. The inspector will work from written procedures, drawings, and instructions, utilizing various measuring instruments and potentially automated machines. The position involves in-line checks, verification of dimensions, and ensuring adherence to operation sheets. The inspector will also be responsible for the routine servicing and upkeep of equipment in their assigned area.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to work from drawings
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment including vernier calipers and height gages, indicators, size blocks, and sine bars.
  • Ability to make arithmetical calculations involving the use of decimals and fractions, angles, and substitution of numbers in simple formulae.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspections following standardized methods and established techniques.
  • Verify accuracy of parts, tools, gages, or other equipment using surface plate work or standard measuring techniques.
  • Work from applicable written inspection procedures, drawings, and other pertinent instructions.
  • Plan and perform dimensional and visual inspection on parts, tools, gages, and other equipment.
  • Use a variety of fixed and variable measuring instruments, including automated measuring machines with well-defined program instructions, to check dimensions and record results.
  • Follow proper procedures to perform in-line checks and verification of dimensions.
  • Ensure that operation sheets are followed.
  • Recognize the need for and arrange for repair or replacement of equipment used in performing the work.
  • Perform routine servicing throughout the assigned area following specified procedures and written instructions, such as an inspector's check list, to ensure equipment operates properly.
