Requirements

  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to organize
  • Leadership skills, ability to multi-task, and strong communication skills
  • Proficient in data collection and compilation using Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to generate quality graphs, trend analysis, and maintain records
  • Ability to use and maintain test equipment and calibration
  • High School/GED diploma
  • Experience in Statistical Process Control
  • Minimum 3 years of quality experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Willing/able to work hours outside of regular shift and overtime as requested
  • Required to have color differential skills (not colorblind)

Responsibilities

  • Perform process inspections and maintain records for each process and the quality of products produced, with 80% of time spent on the production floor conducting quality audits and evaluating product quality against customer specifications.
  • Communicate special instructions or quality issues to incoming Quality Auditors and/or Department Managers/Supervisors.
  • Manage and measure results independently, presenting project summaries.
  • Establish sorting limits/guidelines, monitor sorting processes, and ensure proper handling of nonconforming products.
  • Provide disposition for materials (scrap, sort, or accept) based on quality conformance.
  • Pull samples from production orders for customer or internal use.
  • Assist with the calibration of all testing equipment.
  • Perform, evaluate, and organize various specified product testing, maintaining quality records as per department procedures.
  • Maintain quality records through filing and data entry.
  • Assist with safe practice/housekeeping (AIB/GMP) and training processes, acting as a role model and enforcing rules of conduct, safety, and housekeeping.
  • Assist the Quality Supervisor in maintaining the quality plan and procedures to achieve company business objectives.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Quality Supervisor.
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures related to the production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report potentially unsafe conditions that may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF procedures to a person of authority.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF).
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority for recording and/or correction.
