About The Position

ECHO Incorporated is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector / Trainer to join our Molding Department. This role is crucial for ensuring the quality of injection molded components through detailed inspections, testing, and in-process quality validation. The position involves maintaining quality standards, identifying and communicating potential concerns, and assisting with the training and development of machine operators to foster a safe, efficient, and productive manufacturing environment. The role is for the 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:30 am - 3:00 pm, with a pay range of $20.00 - $24.00/HR (DOE). Requirements

  • 2+ years of manufacturing-related experience required.
  • Experience using a PC, tablet, or similar device to document inspections and complete clerical tasks.
  • Experience using small hand tools such as T-handle hex wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers.
  • Must be a quick learner.
  • Self-motivated, with strong energy, optimism, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift boxes or components weighing 50 pounds or less intermittently.
  • Must be able to walk, bend, twist, lift, use arms and hands consistently throughout a 9-hour shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in Quality Assurance field is preferred.
  • Band saw experience for cutting plastic parts during inspection is preferred.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled visual inspections of parts produced on all injection molding machines.
  • Complete routine functional and destructive testing of safety and high-performance plastic components (e.g., fuel tanks, chainsaw handles, blower fans).
  • Identify potential quality concerns and communicate them to process technicians and supervision for immediate response and corrective actions.
  • Document all quality inspections using provided spreadsheets and quality management software.
  • Be proficient in running production on all machine operator assignments within the molding department.
  • Assist with new employee guidance and training for machine operators.
  • Focus on continued improvement efforts, including cross-functional training, ongoing machine operator development, and accurate communication with indirect support staff.
  • Work overtime as needed to cover other shifts during PTO/vacation events.
