About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured in the Deli Kitchen meet quality and regulatory standards. The inspector will perform various checks and verifications throughout the production process, from receiving raw materials to shipping finished products. This role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), FDA, and USDA regulations, and involves working closely with compliance officials.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old.

  • Must be able to work with USDA inspector in charge and other compliance officials.
  • Must have excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Must be willing to assist other team members in other areas.
  • Must be able to perform steady and productive work for an extended period of time.
  • Must be able to work efficiently with little or no supervision.
  • Must be able to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Must possess basic math skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform room checks and cooler checks to ensure GMP compliance, acceptable environmental conditions, and product quality.
  • Perform quality assurance inspection tasks including verification and tracking of correct product ingredients, labels, lot # and code date, net weights, etc.
  • Ensure each product is manufactured according to FDA and USDA regulations, including maintaining cooking charts, yields, SSOP, and HACCP records.
  • Follow all safety requirements and good manufacturing practices.
  • Verify thermometer accuracy.
  • Verify cooking and chilling temperatures.
  • Collect and package samples for testing.
  • Perform pre-op and maintenance inspections as required.
  • Provide assistance to all associates in the quality assurance department and throughout the Kitchen.
  • Use the “Quality Assurance Production” Process to evaluate variances, collect necessary information, and determine correct decisions.
  • Ensure all products are manufactured under correct procedures from receiving of raw materials to shipping of the finished product.
  • Taste and evaluate all product samples received.
  • Become cross-trained in lab responsibilities.
  • Become familiar with Deli Kitchen functions.
  • Understand all Deli Kitchen processes and procedures and act upon discrepancies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
