About The Position

This individual will inspect parts visually and by using gauges and comparing them to engineering drawings. This individual should effectively support a Lean manufacturing and team-based production facility through continuous improvement efforts. The auditor will learn and then apply the tools of Lean, Shop Floor Management, Masco Operating System, and core values of People, Credibility, High Performance Teams, Customer Service, and Continuous Improvement – Innovation. A person must be able to perform the essential duties accurately, timely and through organization. A quality auditor must be customer focused and have a positive attitude and be available to work overtime. The candidate should have a desire for continual improvement in the business processes they work in.

Requirements

  • Must be able to pass a color acuity test.
  • Problem solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Able to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Acceptable disciplinary and attendance record
  • Aptitude for metrology – science of measurement
  • Able to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Ability to interpret reports and analyze data.
  • Intermediate level computer skills
  • Ability to understand software/run/write programs on CMM and other Computer based equipment
  • Acceptable disciplinary performance – Employees who have received a written warning (first or second) are not eligible for promotions or transfers for a minimum of six months after receiving that warning.
  • Acceptable attendance performance - Employees who have six or more points are not eligible for promotions or transfers.
  • The individual should have the ability to read and interpret documents like safety rules, Delta specifications, Standard Work Instructions, job instruction documents, and aspects of Delta’s MOS (Masco Operating System), SFM (Shop Floor Management) system, QMS (Quality Management System) and ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system.
  • The individual must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers and decimals.
  • The individual must have the ability to apply reason and understanding to carry out instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form. The person must be able to understand basic reports and daily business requirements.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk; use hands and fingers, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • HS degree or HS equivalency diploma is recommended.
  • Prior experience in quality assurance in a manufacturing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and gauge parts using micrometers, calipers, etc.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Perform math calculations using decimals and fractions.
  • Record inspection results accurately and legibly
  • Communicate with co-workers and leadership about inspections / results.
  • Use computer to perform required functions in IQS, SAP, TeamCenter, etc.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and OT as required to support the faucet operations.
  • Train others on QA standards for products.
  • Support continuous improvement activities.
  • Work safely while performing job duties.
  • Make hazard observations and observe unsafe actions and report both using Delta Faucet’s standard procedures.
  • Perform housekeeping duties consistent with 5S and visual workplace standards.
  • Accept / Reject parts to DS-500 specifications.
  • Perform ERGO stretches.
