About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA Engineer with strong UI testing expertise to ensure quality and compliance during the modernization of a critical government information system. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in functional and regression testing Java-based web applications, with a focus on user interface validation, accessibility compliance, and cross-browser compatibility testing. You will develop comprehensive test plans and test cases for system upgrades, including Apache Tomcat application servers, Oracle 19c database integrations, and SAP Business Intelligence reporting interfaces. Strong experience with UI automation frameworks, manual testing methodologies, and defect tracking systems is essential. You will validate that all system components meet federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG) while ensuring a seamless user experience across the modernized platform. Experience testing enterprise applications in Windows Server environments, API testing for backend services (Apache Solr, RESTful services), and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab) for automated test execution is highly valued. This role requires excellent analytical skills, meticulous documentation practices, and the ability to collaborate with developers, business analysts, and security teams in a regulated environment.

Requirements

Extensive experience in functional and regression testing of Java-based web applications
Strong UI testing expertise including user interface validation and cross-browser compatibility
Proficiency with defect tracking systems
Knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements and government accessibility standards (Section 508/WCAG)
Experience testing Apache Tomcat application servers, Oracle 19c databases, and SAP Business Intelligence interfaces
Familiarity with Windows Server environments
API testing experience (Apache Solr, RESTful services)
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab
Excellent analytical skills and meticulous documentation practices
Strong collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in regulated environments
Ability to obtain and/or maintain a TS/SCI government clearance which requires US Citizenship
13+ Years of experience in Systems or IT related roles or a highly related field of work with similar scope and responsibilities.
A bachelor's degree may be substituted for 4 years of experience and a master's degree may be substituted for 6 years of experience.
