About The Position
Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer II in Dallas, Texas. This role involves leading the testing of large-scale systems, creating test plans and cases, and driving continuous improvements in quality assurance processes. The engineer will utilize Internet and Web technologies including Apache, HTTP, XML, HTML, Load Balancing, and DNS. Responsibilities include developing tests using Java and Shell Scripts in a Linux environment, documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems, and testing mobile device development kits and device frameworks. The role also requires designing and building automated test cases for mobile device based graphical user interfaces using frameworks like VNC Robot and Java. Additionally, the engineer will design, develop, and execute quality assurance test cases and support tests for large-scale, distributed software systems using Java, including white and black box tests. Collaboration with engineers, business owners, and customer service professionals throughout the development and testing lifecycle is essential. The position involves consulting with and advising project management and development teams on technical issues related to testing procedures and using functional specifications to plan, create, or sign-off on test plans, test cases, and automated test cases. Regular, detailed status reports on project progress, including test cases executed, bugs discovered, and bugs fixed, are required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and one year of experience in the job offered, or as a Programmer/Analyst, Quality Assurance Engineer, Software Test Developer, or a related occupation.
- Three years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation as equivalent to the Bachelor's degree and one year of experience.
- One year of experience in developing tests for large-scale software systems using Java or Shell Scripts in a Windows, UNIX, or Linux environment.
- One year of experience in documenting and coordinating the deployment of manual and automated tests for complex systems.
