About The Position

The Senior Quality and Compliance Specialist serves in a leadership capacity responsible for quality assurance, regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, policy management, safety oversight, and PREA Compliance Management. This role ensures adherence to all applicable licensing, contractual, and accreditation requirements while promoting continuous quality improvement across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, healthcare, or related field
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, physical, and required clearances
  • Strong data collection, analysis, and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related data systems

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in social sciences, healthcare, or related field preferred
  • Experience in a 24/7 care facility serving youth and/or special populations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage meeting agendas, minutes, and follow-up tracking
  • Collect, analyze, and present quality and performance data
  • Lead ongoing process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate monthly leadership safety reporting
  • Assist Safety Officer in monitoring fire and emergency drills
  • Manage workplace violence tracking in collaboration with HR
  • Oversee required data collection and analysis related to injuries, infection control, and environmental risk
  • Conduct annual reviews and updates of: Environment of Care (EOC) Plans Infection Control Plans Hazard Vulnerability Analysis Workplace Violence Prevention Plan (WVPP) Suicide Risk Environmental Assessments
  • Identify policy revision and development needs
  • Draft, revise, and coordinate review through Policy Council
  • Communicate updates to leadership and staff
  • Maintain policy directory and SharePoint documentation
  • Complete required annual policy updates
  • Monitor compliance with accreditation standards
  • Provide training and technical assistance to staff
  • Maintain annual applications and extranet updates
  • Ensure compliance with applicable licensing and contractual requirements, including but not limited to: DHS OMHSAS DDAP Department of Health BPI BOP Managed Care Organizations (CCBH, Magellan, Carelon, PerformCare) WV DHHR Maryland Washington, DC County Contracts (Allegheny, Montgomery, Dauphin, Erie, etc.)
  • Serve as primary liaison for licensing and contract representatives
  • Coordinate inspections, audits, and investigations
  • Prepare documentation and oversee corrective action plans
  • Respond to regulatory inquiries and reporting requirements
  • Provide guidance to leadership and supervisors regarding licensing and accreditation standards
  • Conduct chart audits and unit inspections
  • Support policy development and compliance education
  • Conduct initial and annual PREA training (including supervisor-specific training)
  • Manage At-Risk Log monitoring and required follow-ups
  • Oversee retaliation monitoring and unannounced rounds
  • Coordinate response to allegations and investigations
  • Prepare audit documentation (every three years)
  • Submit required annual Census Bureau reports
  • Organize and maintain investigative files
  • Manage grievance collection, distribution, tracking, and follow-up
  • Submit and track reportable incidents (HCSIS, DDAP, OMHSAS/BPI, etc.)
  • Ensure timely closure and documentation compliance
