What You'll Do: Programs, analyzes, and runs tests on new or modified software programs, including documentation, diagram, and flowchart, and software development procedures used to verify that programs function according to user requirements and conform to establishment guidelines for Business Users, MCOs and Vendors. This position may offer the ability to work remotely, within Arizona, based upon the department's business needs and continual meeting of expected performance measures. Requirements

  • 2 years SQL experience to query databases for troubleshooting; auditing; updates to subsystems.
  • 2 years of any combination of training and experience that meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs); typical ways KSAs are obtained may include but not limited to: relevant degree from an accredited college or university, related quality assurance certification(s), coursework, and work experience relevant to the assignment.
  • Must Reside in Arizona.
  • Successfully pass fingerprint background check, prior employment verifications and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
  • Travel may be required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.)
  • All newly hired State employees are subject to and must successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify).

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree plus 2 - 5 years' experience in quality assurance testing and analysis (or equivalent experience).
  • Two years' experience in full life-cycle software development, which includes requirement definition, analysis, design, coding, system testing, documentation & implementation.
  • Certification may substitute for years of experience. Certifications or equivalents that would be considered: ISTQB, CAST, CSQA, or CSTE.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Technical Liaison for Business Users, MCO's and Vendors by conducting research and analysis of system problems/issues that are identified. Document and recommend/ propose resolutions, which could be by opening a production ticket for resolution or generating a system request which is used to update/change the system and flows through the system development life cycle. Uses knowledge of both the business area and applications to analyze impact of user requirements on programs; develops and executes system tests.
  • Performs life-cycle tasks regarding system testing; performs full-system life-cycle tasks including analysis, testing, documentation, and implementation for both new systems and for modification of existing systems. Performs User Acceptance Testing and/or Regression testing of automated system changes to ensure accuracy and thoroughness of expected output/outcome. Perform life-cycle tasks regarding Quality Assurance.
  • Preparation of Test Plans. Prepares documentation to support analysis, design and planning of projects. Create, update and troubleshoot by using Power BI, Cognos and SQL. Create and use formulas in excel, such as Vlookup, data validation, if/else.
  • Assist Business Users, MCOs and Vendors with technical support. Explain and/or train automated system changes. Coordinate; administer EDI, Encounters, and other subsystem technical support, which includes development and maintenance of technical documentation.
  • Attend and lead various meetings, staff meetings, management meetings, meetings with programmers, etc.
