About The Position

This position involves testing and inspecting products at various stages of the production process. The Quality Associate will compile and evaluate statistical data to ensure and maintain the quality and reliability of products. Key responsibilities include selecting products for tests, recording test data, evaluating customer returns, performing destructive and nondestructive tests, managing non-conforming products, conducting final inspection audits, data entry for analysis, maintaining quality test records, verifying machine set-up parts, and assisting in new product testing development.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software for data entry purposes.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of basic inspection equipment including but not limited to tape measure, micrometers, calipers and a durometer.
  • Basic understanding of measurement.
  • Basic data entry/computer skills.
  • Ability to read and comprehend quality tools.
  • Ability to record measurements from gauges.
  • Basic use of gauges.
  • Proficient inspections at either Corporate or EDC.
  • Able to generate required records.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing operations.
  • Proficient inspections at both Corporate and EDC.
  • Troubleshooting of quality process with escalation.
  • Proficient use of gauges.
  • Proficient computer skills with required software.
  • Ability to identify potential issues and take action.
  • Able to validate required records.
  • Internal auditor.
  • Proficient knowledge of manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions and performance.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Evaluates returns from customer complaints.
  • Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics.
  • Places non-conforming products on hold if necessary.
  • Conducts final inspection audits.
  • Enters data into computer for analysis.
  • Files and maintains quality test records.
  • Verifies set-up parts for machine adjustments.
  • Assists in new product testing development.
  • Perform basic data entry/computer skills.
  • Read and comprehend quality tools.
