Do you want to help us build the DNA of tech.? Vishay Spectrol is currently seeking applicants for an Quality Associate Engineer. The VISHAY Process Automation Engineer will create detailed project roadmaps for automation projects and automated systems to use in a production and manufacturing environment, in collaboration with departmental and corporate leadership. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, in addition to thorough knowledge of engineering and automation.

Requirements

  • Min. bachelor’s degree in engineering field – (EE/IE/ME or equivalent).
  • Experience supervising or coordinating logistics or material handling activities.
  • Minimum 4-5 years prior experience as Quality Engineer or Testing & Validation Engineer.
  • Sound knowledge of ISO 9001/AS 9100 Quality Management System Standards.
  • Ability to interpret Military and commercial standards (i.e. MIL-DTL-790, MIL-STD-202/204, IPC J-STD-001, IP 64/65/66).
  • Proficient in PPAP/APQP/FAIR processes.
  • Working knowledge of Oscilloscope, Multimeters and other Environmental Lab testing equipment.
  • Excellent MS Office Skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to details.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, bilingual in Spanish is plus but not required.
  • This position requires access to information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export Administration Regulations. As such, this position is open only to applicants who qualify as “U.S. Persons” according to U.S. federal law.

Responsibilities

  • Environmental Lab Testing, Qualification (Testing and Validation) of Products, Engineering evaluation testing.
  • Testing and reporting as per MIL Specs. and Customer Specific requirements.
  • Develop/Update test plans, procedures, equipment and inspection requirements in conjunction with R & D Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Ensure all products, equipment and processes are fully qualified prior to changes being implemented, products/processes being moved to new locations or new product start up.
  • Manage Calibration of tools and maintain records – responsible to conduct in-house Calibration and coordinates outside calibration with Vendors.
  • Maintenance of inspection and testing tools/equipment/fixtures/machines.
  • Manage customer returns (RMAs) and respective 8D (Corrective Action process).
  • Support Customer specific Source Inspection & Product/Process Audits.
  • Perform Customer specific FAI/Sample Lot Inspection and prepare reports.
  • Responsible for direct interface/communication with customers on Quality related requests.
  • Support Receiving Inspection, In-process Inspection and Final Inspection activities as necessary.
  • Support training and skill development activities of Production personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
