About The Position

This role provides general administrative support to the Quality department. The Quality Assistant will assist in the implementation and flow of departmental procedures, compile and prepare documents and reports related to the Quality department, and process, record, and maintain data. This includes information such as work instructions, first article submissions, engine and part returns, sort and rework sheets, Assembly changeover sheets, and Engineering changes. The position involves communicating with internal and external parties to answer questions and disseminate information. Additionally, the role may involve updating and maintaining the Quality Management System document and data control system (e.g., ISO9001, AS9100) under the direction of Management Representatives.

Requirements

  • HS Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) with one year of clerical experience in a position related field.
  • Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing and organizing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • Ability to operate office machines such as copiers, scanners, facsimile, and telephone systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary or personal employee information.
  • Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.
  • Ability to compile, tabulate or verify information for document control.
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively one-on-one, or to groups, as necessary.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and competing demands; sets priorities and ensures all issues are addressed while being sensitive to time constraints and resource availability.
  • Knowledge and application of the Quality Management System requirements (such as ISO9001, AS9100, etc.) for document control.
  • Display appropriate proficiency with computers and computer applications, including: spreadsheets (e.g., Excel), word processing (e.g. Word), presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), databases (e. g., Access, contact management software), internet/intranet (e.g., browsers, search engines), special applications (e.g., AS400, Crib master), and e-mail.
  • Can diagnose and correct minor issues with hardware and software as needed in order to maintain records or create material.
