About The Position

We are seeking a Quality and Supply Chain Engineer to support the San Diego team's quality management system and day-to-day supply chain operations. This cross-functional role helps ensure that purchased material, production activities, inventory, and customer shipments meet applicable quality, contractual, schedule, and traceability requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with Engineering, Production, corporate Quality, Finance, suppliers, intercompany partners, and freight providers. This position is well suited to someone who can move comfortably between quality records and audits, supplier and material coordination, hands-on inspection support, and shipment execution in a growing aerospace and defense environment.

Requirements

  • Must have at least an Associate's Degree in Engineering or related fields
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in related Engineering roles
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years working with AS9100 Quality certifications and QMS experience
  • Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain a Security Clearance

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support the ongoing implementation and maintenance of the AS9100 quality management system, including document and record control, internal audits, management review inputs, corrective actions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Collect, maintain, and report quality and delivery metrics, including customer feedback, supplier scorecards, on-time delivery, first-pass yield, warranty returns, defect closure rate, average defect age, and audit results.
  • Coordinate responses to customer and supplier nonconformities, corrective action requests, quality findings, and warranty returns; monitor actions through closure.
  • Review purchase requisitions, purchase orders, contract amendments, and related documents for applicable quality and flow-down requirements.
  • Perform or coordinate receiving, in-process, and final inspections and complete final quality release of products and shipments.
  • Maintain product identification and traceability records, including unit and serial-number tracking.
  • Execute purchasing activities for assigned programs, capital equipment builds, and intercompany partner requirements.
  • Source and onboard new suppliers and partners; collect required documentation and establish approved suppliers in company systems.
  • Communicate technical, quality, schedule, and documentation requirements to suppliers and follow orders through delivery.
  • Evaluate supplier performance using quality and on-time-delivery data, and support supplier corrective actions and improvement efforts when performance falls below expectations.
  • Coordinate receiving records and invoice reconciliation with corporate headquarters and Finance, including carrier and freight invoices.
  • Track material status across programs and maintain accurate inventory, MRP, and production planning data.
  • Create and revise bills of material, production work orders, and material pull sheets as requirements and inventory conditions change.
  • Coordinate kit pulls and help ensure material is available to support build schedules.
  • Coordinate customer, demonstration, intercompany, and OCONUS shipments; maintain shipping records and update the shipment tracker.
  • Prepare bailment agreements and other shipment documentation as required.
  • Support freight-forwarder selection and coordination for international shipments.
  • Assist with operational projects such as facility moves and the relocation of inventory, equipment, and controlled records.
