About The Position

The North America Vehicle Logistics Quality, Claims & Damage Prevention Analyst will focus on delivering necessary improvements or actions to help Ford become a leader in damage-free delivery. This position requires significant attention to detail, the ability to draw logical conclusions from data, and the capacity to challenge data and make adjustments to ensure decisions and action plans lead to desired results. The chosen candidate will engage with dealers, trucking companies (car-haul carriers), railroads, ocean carriers, yard operators, and internal organizations such as product development, marketing and sales, and legal. The primary goal for NA Vehicle Logistics (NAVL) Quality & Claims is providing a damage-free vehicle to the final destination while maintaining cost, dwell, and other objectives.

Requirements

  • Associates degree or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • 3-5 years of Experience within manufacturing quality or Materials Planning & Logistics (MP&L).
  • Ability to work independently and make critical decisions with limited supervision.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional groups to resolve concerns.
  • Excellent writing, oral, and presentation abilities.
  • High level of analytical skills with a history of leveraging data, managing projects to deliver a solution, and validating that the action was successful.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks.
  • Must be open to traveling.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Business Administration with a focus in Supply Chain management highly preferred.
  • 5-7 years of Experience within manufacturing quality or Materials Planning & Logistics (MP&L) is also preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed NAVL Quality objectives by facilitating, improving, and implementing actions that will reduce transportation damage and dwell within the vehicle shipping process.
  • Quickly resolve issues using analytical abilities.
  • Maintain and improve relationships between Ford and its finished vehicle logistics carrier partners to deliver best-in-class quality as issues arise.
  • Devise and implement improvements in the overall in-transit repair (ITR) process for exception units.
  • Perform load tests for future model vehicles and other key model changes on rail and/or carhaul to document and define potential concerns that could impact damage-free shipping or create load density issues affecting shipping costs.
  • Leverage BI Dashboard to identify areas needing action to improve Ford's damage-free delivery performance and engage in critical conversations with carriers.
  • Engage with Plant Quality and Production teams to address repetitive exceptions flowing through the release gate, using data provided by carriers or automated inspection systems.
  • Create, monitor, and maintain various POs necessary to support the functions of this section.
  • Utilize automated vehicle inspection systems and manage projects related to this area.
  • Lead and establish quality reviews with carriers.
  • Travel as required (max 5 business days/month) to support various projects or activities, primarily to Ford plant locations but potentially extending to destination locations.
  • Support direct communication to dealers from a generic department mailbox.
  • Drive leadership within the Quality & Claims space of the industry.
  • Disposition of non-saleable as new (NSAN) units.
  • Manage necessary reinvoicing tasks as required.
  • Engage and provide direction, as needed, with the 3rd party claims management firm.
