This Position reports to: Project Director As an intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience through various projects. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your skills by supporting ABB’s operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities. The work model for the role is onsite/hybrid in Houston, TX. Please note that no relocation assistance or stipend will be offered for this position. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the office location. Candidates are expected to manage their own commuting arrangements.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master’s degree program in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field., in the United States.
  • Intern must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to analyze complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Exhibit the capability to manage several tasks at once while maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Collaborate with team members to convey ideas, share information, and provide updates on project progress.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with data tools (Power BI, Sharepoint) is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Quality Management System (QMS), including SOPs, work instructions, and training records.
  • Support internal audits, compliance checks, and document control activities.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze quality and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with automation initiatives, including testing, validating, and documenting automated workflows.
  • Prepare reports and dashboards for management review.
  • Participate in process improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.) under supervision.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations) to support quality and compliance goals.
