You will assist with key activities such as Document Control, Change Control, customer and regulatory audit preparation, internal audits, project coordination, training support (e.g., cGMP and record control), and cross-functional collaboration to ensure QMS progress. You will work closely with teams across Engineering, Operations, Development, and Procurement to support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a degree program in a field such as Technical Writing, Data Science, Computer Science English, Business Administration, or Journalism.
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27-July 31, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
  • Be willing to work in Oneonta, NY.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • A desire to learn and continuously improve.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing Plant Document Control and Change Control activities.
  • Support customer and regulatory audits by preparing documentation and assisting with audit processes.
  • Contribute to the Internal Audit Program, including conducting internal audits and documenting findings.
  • Provide support for plant projects related to quality and compliance.
  • Assist with organizing and facilitating training activities (e.g., cGMP, record control, etc.).
  • Help maintain and periodically report metrics related to quality activities.
  • Support Plant Safety programs to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Assist with maintaining engineering drawings, project reports, specifications, and documentation.
  • Support the implementation of work inspections and procedures, including assigning document numbers as needed.
  • Participate in recommending process simplifications and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Help ensure confidentiality of sensitive materials and compliance with local, national, and international standards.
  • Assist in administering the Plant Records Retention Program, ensuring compliance in collaboration with the Department of Archives and Records Management (DARM).
  • Provide support to the QA Coordinator and other team members as needed.
  • Contribute to the achievement of Quality Department short- and long-term goals.
