About The Position

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Quality Analyst in Scott, LA to support our manufacturing operations. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing organization that values safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence. The Quality Analyst is primarily responsible for performing quality determination tests on production and packaging event samples and analytical analysis on all field samples.

Requirements

  • Background in scientific skills such as, oil laboratory analysis, quality assurance and control, analytical chemistry, etc.
  • Either a Bachelor's Degree in a science medium or 2 years equivalent experience must be provided.

Responsibilities

  • Performing all quality assurance tests on Raw Materials and finished products in a precise and accurate manner.
  • Inputting data into SAP for material batch test results and interfacing with Sugar Land QA department with regard to Master Inspection Characteristics, shelf life, and other sections of the Quality Module.
  • Maintaining inventory status of reagents, lab equipment, etc.
  • Preparing lab standard test reagents.
  • Performing standardization on reagents and calibration of equipment on a regular basis.
  • Keeping detailed records.
  • Maintaining control charts.
  • Overseeing or performing the maintenance of laboratory and/or facility analytical equipment and initiating the purchase, installation and implementation for improved monitoring or analysis.
  • Meeting requirements of ISO management system.
  • Coordinating with the Production Leader to pull samples of any Raw Materials, RMAs, Restricted Batches or QI Batches, so the Quality Analyst can perform the appropriate QA tests and analysis.
  • Using good laboratory practices to accurately record and file all raw test data, including pertinent paperwork.
  • Communicating results to Production and Material Control, calculating and recommending batch adjustments to Production.
  • Maintaining log of problem batches with the action that was taken.
  • Packaging and shipping samples to other facilities and customers.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and orderly work environment and assuring smooth operation of the QA Laboratory.
  • Ensuring product formulas and specifications are current and that all materials have MSDS information available.
  • Being the point person for ISO 9001 audits.
  • Performing all basic calibration on lab equipment.
  • Continuing to improve expertise in chemistry, analytical techniques, and equipment maintenance.
  • Managing retain database and rework of retains.
  • Assisting with ECAP and other relevant audits.
  • Ensuring that the lab is adequately covered during vacation and sick days.
  • Supporting the guiding principles of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 to continually improve Scott plant's safety, health and environmental performance, security, and efforts to respond to public concerns relating to design, development, manufacture, storage, marketing, distribution, use and ultimate safe disposal of chemical products.
  • Supporting and being committed to the Quality Improvement process.
  • Planning strategies to ensure error-free work by "doing it right the first time" and conveying this attitude in the daily performance of various duties.
