About The Position

NNS Quality Assurance Engineering (Final Certification/Material Investigation Team) is seeking a motivated individual to join. This individual would work with Material Investigation Leads to maintain operational specifications for the Material Investigation process, ensuring procedures are maintained in accordance with best practices and process improvements. The role involves analyzing material issues to ensure all liabilities are documented and confirmed issues are adjudicated with appropriate objective quality evidence (OQE) from customers. The individual will act as a liaison between key stakeholders to coordinate material issue resolution, review the status of Material Investigations, manage schedules, and prepare status reports for the team, immediate management, and customers. Additionally, they will prepare Letters of Notification (LON) for government officials as needed. The ideal candidate should be proactive, team-oriented, resourceful, an independent/critical thinker, solutions-focused, adaptable, and flexible, capable of working with minimal supervision.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 1 years of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
  • Proactive, team-oriented, resourceful, independent/critical thinker, solutions-focused, adaptable, and flexible individual that can work with minimal supervision
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience/exposure to SAP, DDMS, and COGNOS
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel
  • Proficiency with SAP and COGNOS
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with the ability to work in a close team environment as a strong team player
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, adjust to change and enjoy challenges of new problems or situations
  • Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements an influence change
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities
