About The Position

The Qualitative Analyst in the Core for Applied Research and Evaluation (CARE) within Creighton University’s Institute for Population Health supports a portfolio of applied research and program evaluation projects focused on improving population health, advancing health equity, and strengthening health systems and community-based programs. Working under the supervision of the Director of the Core for Applied Research and Evaluation, the Qualitative Analyst contributes to the design, implementation, and analysis of qualitative and mixed-methods research and evaluation activities, including community-based participatory research, across multiple projects. Responsibilities include conducting interviews and focus groups, managing qualitative data collection, performing qualitative analysis, document analysis, coordinating project activities, and supporting dissemination of findings. Responsibilities also include project management support for the CARE unit’s work. The position requires strong organizational and project management skills, experience with qualitative research methods and/or community-based participatory research, and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, health system partners, and community organizations.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Health Services Research, Sociology, Psychology, or a related field required
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience conducting qualitative research, program evaluation, or applied research required
  • Experience conducting interviews and/or focus groups required
  • Experience analyzing qualitative data using established methods (e.g., thematic analysis, framework analysis, content analysis, or grounded theory) required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience managing or coordinating projects preferred
  • Experience working in healthcare, public health, community-based organizations, or academic research environments preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct qualitative and mixed-methods research and evaluation activities, including developing interview and focus group guides, conducting interviews and focus groups, managing qualitative data collection and documentation, coding and analyzing qualitative data using established analytic approaches, and contributing to interpretation of findings and development of reports.
  • Support project management across multiple research and evaluation projects, including coordinating project timelines and deliverables, communicating with internal and external partners, maintaining project documentation, assisting with IRB submissions, data use agreements, and related compliance activities, tracking project progress and identifying potential challenges, and providing support to student assistants, interns, or trainees involved in CARE projects, as assigned.
  • Support research and evaluation design, analysis, and dissemination, including assisting with development of evaluation plans and study protocols, supporting mixed-methods integration of qualitative and quantitative findings, preparing reports, presentations, and manuscripts, and contributing to grant proposals, contracts, and project scopes of work.
  • Work in partnership with the CAREs team and Institute for Population Health faculty and staff to support the growth and impact of applied research and evaluation activities, including participation in meetings, planning activities, and cross-project initiatives.
