About The Position

This role performs the functions of a non-certified care attendant with medication administration. The purpose of this position is to provide service and routine assistance to residents according to standard procedures and established State and Federal regulations. This position assists in the safety, comfort, and well-being of residents, and administers medication in accordance with a physician’s written orders.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Medication Assistant training based on state regulations.
  • Entry Level experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of prioritizing tasks and managing schedules effectively.
  • Knowledge of privacy regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to build trust with clients and their families.
  • Sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office/community setting.
  • Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Engaging in repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and fingers – typing and / or writing.
  • Clarity of Vision for near visual acuity (working with small objects or reading small print, including use of computers).
  • Clarity of vision for far visual acuity (at 20 feet or more).
  • Peripheral vision.

Responsibilities

  • Assists residents with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Reminds residents of scheduled activities, social events, meals, and the need to get dressed.
  • Assists with medication supervision and/or administration based on training, certification, and licensure.
  • Assists with laundry.
  • Assists dietary staff with serving meals, ensuring resident attendance, and observing residents while eating.
  • Arranges for and delivers meal trays for room service as needed and assists with returning trays.
  • Serves supplemental nourishment and snacks.
  • Observes residents' condition, including mental state, general well-being, and changes in physical condition, and reports to the assisted living director.
  • Responds to residents’ call signals, makes rounds, and checks on resident safety and security.
  • Uses independent judgment to provide assistance or summon help.
  • Provides general support, comfort, and socialization opportunities, encouraging independence and activity attendance.
  • Assists activity staff with activities and social events, including evening and weekend programming.
  • Assists residents to and from meals and activities, including wheelchair transport.
  • Assists in the admission, orientation, discharge, and transfer of residents.
  • Be cross-trained to work in all levels of care (Assisted Living, Assisted Living Memory Care).
  • All other duties as assigned.
