About The Position
Centurion is seeking a full-time Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) to join their team at Indiana State Prison in Michigan City, Indiana. The QMA will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or other medical staff, administering medications, documenting dosages and times, taking vital signs, assisting with examinations and treatments, and helping patients with daily living activities. The QMA is also responsible for monitoring patients and reporting any changes in their condition.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Graduation from a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) training program required
- QMA certification required
- Must be appropriately and actively certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of experience in acute care, long-term care, emergency, or correctional setting preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist nurses by following written and/or oral instructions to administer medications.
- Document drug dosages and times of administration.
- Take vital signs.
- Assist in examinations and treatments.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Monitor patients to report changes in their conditions.
