About The Position

The Qualified (Certified) Medication Aide (QMA or CMA) assists with administering medications to residents as directed by the physician, nurse supervisor, and Director of Nursing (DON). The role also assists residents with activities of daily living. Medication-related duties are performed under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with state regulations and company policy.

Requirements

• Be certified as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) or Certified Medication Aide (CMA) by the state.
• Maintain a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in good standing with the state.

• 0–1 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, administer, and record certain prescribed medications for residents under the supervision of a licensed nurse and as allowed by state regulatory agencies.
• Practice the five rights of medication administration within the scope of the role.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
• Label, store, receive, and destroy medication according to company policy.
• Perform medication charting as directed by the Nurse Supervisor or Charge Nurse.
