Requirements

  • Certified as a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) in Indiana and in good standing.
  • Active CNA certification as required by state regulations.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to medication safety and accuracy.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to serving older adults.
  • Communicate clearly, respectfully, and professionally with residents, families, and team members.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Dependable, organized, and able to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior long-term care experience
  • Completion of the Indiana Department of Health’s Insulin Administration Education Module.

Responsibilities

  • Administer non-parenteral medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and state scope of practice.
  • Observe, document, and report adverse reactions or changes in condition to the nursing supervisor or Director of Nursing.
  • Administer PRN medications as authorized and document outcomes appropriately.
  • Accurately obtain and record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and required documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Provide direct resident care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
  • Assist residents with mobility, transfers, repositioning, ambulation, and range-of-motion exercises in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Respond promptly to call lights and resident requests, ensuring timely and compassionate care.
  • Support meal service by transporting residents, assisting with feeding as needed, and monitoring nutritional intake.
  • Perform restorative nursing procedures and follow-up care as directed by nursing leadership.
  • Maintain resident rooms, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized manner while adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
