About The Position

Auburn Village has an immediate opening for a Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) on the 12-hour day shift (5a-5p). This full-time position offers a better work-life balance with its extended shifts. The role involves administering medications and treatments, supervising caregivers, and reporting patient conditions. Auburn Village is a premier skilled nursing facility offering various services, including long- and short-term stays, respite care, hospice, rehabilitation, and specialized treatments.

Requirements

Graduate of a state-approved training class for QMAs
Completion of or enrollment in a state-approved Qualified Medication Aide course
Qualified Medication Aide Certification from the State of Indiana or in process
Must be open to working floor as a CNA when needed
Able to organize and complete work in a timely manner
Able to meet the physical demands of the position: stooping, turning, bending, squatting, kneeling and lifting up to 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

Experience with g-tubes and trach/vent patients a PLUS

Responsibilities

Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility policies under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Supervise caregivers and respond to situations based on QMA nursing standards, policies, procedures and protocol
Report on the condition of patients to the appropriate supervisor and other staff members
Perform tasks that are within the scope of his/her educational preparation, knowledge and local, state and federal guidelines and the policies of the facility
