We are seeking to hire a Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) to conduct condition inspection for buildings in NYC for FISP (Façade Inspection & Safety Program) inspections in all five boroughs of NYC.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field required.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E) or Registered Architect (RA) in NY State
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience of visual and close-up Façade inspections and specialized probes of cavity wall construction of high-rise buildings using suspended scaffolding
  • Knowledge of Façade repair or restoration
  • Extensive knowledge of NYC façade rules, FISP / Local Law 11 requirements, DOB filing procedures for FISP report and construction drawing, and NYC Construction Codes
  • Good knowledge to prepare drawings using CAD
  • Prepared the TR6 reports and filed it on DOB website

Responsibilities

  • Managing and coordinating the day-to-day activities of survey field crew
  • Conduct visual inspections using binocular and close-up inspections using suspended scaffolding
  • Take notes and photographs
  • Prepare the report as per the guidelines outlined by NYCDOB and our clients
  • Prepare the TR6 and other reports and file with DOB
  • Perform field investigations
  • Prepare technical reports
  • Support compliance with Façade inspection programs
