About The Position

Benchmark Human Services, a leader in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health services, is seeking a Qualified Behavioral Health Professional (QBHP) for its California Active Consulting team in LA County, CA. The QBHP will coach and train family members, caregivers, and agency staff on skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction plans, including data collection and assessments. This role also involves assisting with crisis de-escalation and afterhours support. The QBHP credential is an entry-level position that complements other behavioral credentials and reflects the necessary education and advanced training.

Requirements

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor's degree in a human or social services related field is required.
  • Registered Behavior Technician in the State of California.
  • Minimum of one-year of experience working with persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
  • Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification.
  • Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certificate, i.e., Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI).
  • Maintain required certification and licensure as applicable.
  • Maintain valid driver's license and auto insurance.

  • Fluent bilingual speaker in one or more of the following languages: (English/Spanish; English/Mandarin; English/Korean; English/Tagalog).

Responsibilities

  • Provide face-to-face or virtual coaching and training with family members, caregivers, and DSP staff of participating IDD/BH providers.
  • Assist agency staff with development, implementation, and monitoring of Behavior Support Plans (BSP), including training on data collection and fidelity checks.
  • Work with DSPs and their supervisors to ensure all materials/supplies needed for implementation of behavior plans are available.
  • Present graphical summary of effectiveness of BSP to DSPs at meetings.
  • Model positive behavioral supports and respond to emergency situations as trained.
  • Complete Functional Behavioral Assessment Interviews and/or Observations, as assigned by BCBA or Director.
  • Participate during provider wraparound or consultation meetings by reporting assessment results and offering rationale for best practice recommendations in areas of expertise.
  • Provide crisis de-escalation support to teams as required.
  • Complete all documentation as expected in a timely manner.
  • Fulfill all job duties and responsibilities in accordance with BACB standards.
  • Collaborate with and regularly update Director and other team members on individual and provider support activities.
  • Attend all agency, departmental, and client-specific meetings as directed.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect or exploitation to supervisor or department head.
  • Comply with all organization standards to assure the health, safety, and confidentiality of all individuals.
  • Report to work as scheduled.
  • Other duties as assigned.
