About The Position

The overall desire of the Quality Technician position is to be a staple of and work with production. The Quality Technician is focused on a consistently made, repeatable, quality product. Essentially a customer advocate within our building when it comes to overall Quality for Roberts PolyPro. This position reports directly to the Quality Manager.

Requirements

  • Computer skills. (Windows proficient (Especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.)
  • Use of Micrometers.
  • Use of Calipers.
  • Able to address concerns and communicate in a professional manner.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous quality experience preferred.
  • Attention to details.

Responsibilities

  • Run standard production parts testing for 4 times an hour for accuracy and specification deviation.
  • During production parts testing also inspect test equipment for proper usage and accuracy.
  • Interaction with Team Leaders and operators concerning production schedules and testing equipment needed.
  • Cleaning/maintaining test stations with proper productive equipment.
  • Filling out a “Shift Summary” report for productive communication between each Quality Technician for a smooth shift change.
  • Relay any red flags with incoming Quality Technician and Quality manager.
  • Sign (initial) and green sticker full completed pallets (signifying final inspection complete and at shift end (sign i.e. initial) pallet tickets what has been checked on partial pallets or incomplete pallets. (Example: 48 sleeves of Niagara product are completed at shift change; the Quality Tech would initial (or use a stamp) to show what portion was checked to show accountability and help shift handoff to incoming shift.
  • Rely on print specs and QC Monster to be the standard to make important quality decisions taking the questionable area out of decision making.
  • Assist on Quality R&D projects and gathering production run information.
  • Assist on Production run profile information to document run settings for current and future use.
  • Initiate discussions for R&D projects based on views and ideals.
  • Complete “First Piece” article for production on the start of a run and with every line stoppage.
  • Complete “Defect Occurrence” article for production that is out of spec.
  • Assist Process Engineer with defining process readings.
