About The Position

This position is team based to perform face to face crisis assessments, crisis intervention, crisis follow up and relapse prevention services for individuals with chronic mental illness within Collin County. Services will be provided at the individual’s place of residence, schools, and other safe community-based locations 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, including holidays. Services will be provided to adults/adolescents /children who are physically located in Collin County at the time of the crisis. Staff coordinates, monitors, provides crisis assessments, recovery planning, serves as an advocate and liaison on behalf of the individual served and follows up with individuals for 90-day period. Staff works within federal, state, and local guidelines to provide routine case management, skills training, psychosocial rehabilitation as well as community resource education within 90-day period.

Requirements

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in a human services field as required to qualify as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP).
  • Two (2) years prior experience in a mental health field required.
  • Ability to complete detailed, yet concise progress notes on all services provided during the sessions.
  • Knowledge and experience in providing rehabilitative services to individuals with mental illness.
  • Ability to assess clients’ needs, to coordinate clients’ services, to communicate effectively and to train others.
  • Knowledge of the social services system and the ability to connect clients with appropriate services.
  • Ability to write clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to think clearly and logically, to deal with potentially dangerous and/or emotional situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in human services field.
  • Previous Crisis experience.
  • English/Spanish bilingual.
