About The Position

Phoenix Processor LP is hiring for a Marine Engineer with QMED Rating for work on board the M/V Excellence. The M/V Excellence is an at sea fish processor that operates approximately 9 months per year at sea during 4 separate fisheries. The average rotation period is 60-90 days, sharing work between port and time at sea.

Requirements

Strong troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude
Experience with electrical and refrigeration experience and certification is a plus
Must be fit for duty, able to lift 50 lbs without assistance, manage stairs and ladders, and be able to work in small or confined spaces.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience working on ships, preferably at sea
Experience in the fishing industry
Current USCG Merchant Mariner Credential with QMED rating
STCW
Medical Certificate
TWIC

Responsibilities

As directed, routine maintenance of the propulsion, auxiliary and mechanical systems
Maintain a working knowledge of company, ship and government safety policies and regulations
Care, use and documentation of ship’s critical spare parts, inventory, consumables
Ability to work independently and as a team to prioritize projects and daily maintenance
