About The Position

Under the direction of the Director of QHSE and External Compliance, the QHSE Coordinator is responsible for supporting the operational effectiveness of the QHSE & External Compliance department and ensuring organizational success through compliance with safety legislation, internal policies, and industry best practices. This role provides direct support to operational leadership by planning, promoting, implementing, monitoring, and reviewing protective and preventative measures designed to safeguard the health, safety, and wellbeing of employees, contractors, and those impacted by company operations. Working collaboratively with the QHSE & External Compliance team, this role will help minimize operational losses, occupational health risks, accidents, and injuries. Due to site visits, field training, and audit requirements, this is considered a safety-sensitive role. The QHSE Coordinator role encompasses three levels of seniority based on skillset and experience. Specific definitions on the levels are as follows: QHSE Coordinator 1: The QHSE Coordinator 1 position is an entry-level position into the role. This role will focus on developing a working knowledge of departmental systems, supporting compliance activities, and contributing to organizational safety initiatives. QHSE Coordinator 2 (Intermediate Level): The QHSE Coordinator 2 position is an intermediate position awarded to QHSE Coordinators who have a proven track record of level 1 tasks, with increased technical responsibilities, expanded duties, and expectations for independent leadership on safety and compliance initiatives. QHSE Coordinator 3 (Advanced Level): The QHSE Coordinator 3 is a senior, field-focused safety professional responsible for driving visible safety leadership, strengthening safety culture, and ensuring consistent compliance execution across operations. This role acts as a trusted partner to Operations, Technical Services, and leadership — bridging strategy to execution through strong field presence, mentorship, and accountability. The QHSE Coordinator 3 position plays a key role in developing safety champions, coaching frontline leaders, and scaling safety systems in step with operational growth. This position is expected to lead by influence, not authority, and model Magnum’s values through action, presence, and professionalism. This is a high-autonomy, high-impact role requiring advanced technical competence, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to operate confidently in dynamic, high-risk environments.
