About The Position

This position performs manual visual inspection of incoming drug product packaging and medical device components to ensure materials meet quality standards prior to use in drug product manufacturing. This role supports product quality and patient safety by identifying defects, ensuring compliance with cGMP requirements, and maintaining accurate documentation. The position requires sustained attention to detail and adherence to established inspection procedures. Typically, 80% or more of each shift is spent performing visual inspection.

Requirements

High school degree
2+ years of experience (Technician II)
5+ years of experience (Technician III)

Nice To Haves

Associates degree in a physical or biological science preferred
Prior experience in a quality control, laboratory, or manufacturing environment preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Conducts manual visual inspection of drug product packaging and medical device components primarily using light boxes and partially using microscopes to identify defects and ensure material quality.
Uses inspection tools (e.g., magnifiers, size estimation charts, optical comparators) to evaluate and characterize defects accurately.
Completes, reviews, and reconciles inspection records and logbooks to ensure compliance with cGMP standards and internal procedures.
Maintains laboratory supplies and performs routine laboratory maintenance to support continuous operations.
Participates in training and competency assessments for visual inspection.
Adheres to cGMP, safety, and gowning/PPE requirements to maintain a safe working environment.
Supports high-throughput inspection activities, sustaining focus and accuracy for extended periods.
Uses computerized systems to perform daily tasks and document inspection results.
Collaborates with team members and communicates inspection findings to ensure alignment and timely resolution of quality issues.
