About The Position

This QC Technician - Assurance role involves applying quality assurance principles within a manufacturing setting to ensure compliance and prevent defects. Key responsibilities include verifying in-process controls, inspections, and work instructions, performing detailed quality inspections using various tools, and conducting qualification and validation tests. The technician will also be responsible for identifying, segregating, and documenting nonconforming products, ensuring correct application of API monogram, maintaining accurate quality records, and supporting corrective actions by identifying trends and process gaps. Adherence to company, HSE, and Quality policies, along with wearing appropriate PPE, is mandatory.

Requirements

  • High Scholl Diploma
  • Three years of verifiable work experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Trained in or able to learn API Q1 and ISO 9001 requirements
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to accurately use inspection and measuring tools (scales, OD tape, rulers, thread gauges, calipers, micrometers)
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained across quality-related tasks
  • Ability to learn and follow technical repair, assembly, and verification procedures
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, instructions, and work procedures

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree preferred (Quality, Business, Engineering, or related field)

Responsibilities

  • Apply quality assurance principles in a manufacturing environment to support compliance and prevention of defects
  • Verify that in-process controls, inspections, and work instructions are followed correctly
  • Perform verification checks using quality forms and checklist to confirm process capability and compliance
  • Perform quality inspection such as dimensional with inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges, scales, etc.), & visual inspection as well as other qualification and validation tests such as DSC, tensile, and etc.
  • Support identification, segregation, and documentation of nonconforming product in accordance with Quality procedures
  • Ensure correct application and removal of API monogram per authorization and nonconformance status
  • Complete accurate documentation and maintain required quality records
  • Support corrective actions by identifying trends, recurring issues, or process gaps
  • Wear appropriate PPE at all times
  • Comply with all NOV Company, HSE, and Quality policies, guidelines, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned
