About The Position

Techmer PM is seeking a QC Technician for their Clinton, Tennessee facility. This role is responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet customer and Techmer PM requirements through testing, color adjustments, and dispositioning of nonconforming products. The ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of QC procedures, lab equipment, raw materials, and finished products.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2 years of compounding or lab experience
  • Prior experience in using a color spectrophotometer – Xrite, DataColor, or other equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have passed a Hue Value/Chroma Munsell test and be able to differentiate color hues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics to be able to understand & execute analytical reports.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all products/materials meet quality requirements through quality control testing, sample compounding, and efficient utilization of company resources.
  • Operate process equipment including injection molding machine, blown film machine, pellet melter, roll mills, and fiber lines as applicable.
  • Operate analytical test equipment for plastic applications including Melt Indexer, Volatile/Moisture analyzer, and others as required.
  • Perform inspection per the Product and Process (P&P) Specification.
  • Adjust color either on-line or off-line.
  • Consult with manufacturing supervisor and technical services in making run vs. pull (termination) decisions with problematic orders (products).
  • Utilize statistical tools e.g. SQC/SPC when applicable.
  • Identify out of control data points and take proper action when applicable.
  • Complete Certificate of Analysis (COA) with appropriate information as required.
  • Investigate nonconforming raw materials and manufactured products and take the proper action.
  • Maintain product QC files, including making standards (if needed), entering data, closing out files, refiling, file retrieval for upcoming runs, verifying standards, and taking proper action if files are incomplete or standards are missing.
