About The Position

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for monitoring plant processing operations and managing programs related to food safety, HACCP, and regulatory compliance. This role involves performing a variety of technical inspections, executing product testing, and monitoring manufacturing tasks to actively detect and prevent processing or product defects.

Requirements

  • Bilingual Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish are required.
  • Technical Aptitude: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and dedicated databases for interfacing with suppliers, customers, and auditors.
  • Industry Knowledge: Proven experience enforcing SOPs, product specifications, and regulatory guidelines within a manufacturing environment.
  • Core Skills: Strong mathematical and analytical capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a high level of organizational skill.
  • Soft Skills: Professional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with both on-the-floor employees and upper management.
  • Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple overlapping tasks and pivot quickly within a fast-paced, demanding environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor plant compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP systems, BRC, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and strict product specifications.
  • Perform point-step process reviews, label and materials audits, line clearings, and formal documentation control for process deviations.
  • Demonstrate Qualified Individual (QI) responsibilities regarding Preventative Controls to maintain high-level compliance.
  • Perform detailed manual and automated quality testing on finished products and incoming raw materials, verifying compliance against industry standards, size, shape, and quality specifications.
  • Conduct precise data collection and sample gathering to support ongoing data analysis and internal reporting.
  • Participate actively in regular plant audits and critical third-party regulatory audits.
  • Inspect production machinery and equipment to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently.
  • Identify, document, and report all product or operational deficiencies to the management team.
  • Coordinate and collaborate closely with multiple production departments to support smooth plant operations.
  • Partner with team members to consistently achieve both departmental and overall production goals.
