The QC Technician is responsible for gathering and testing products for quality control purposes. This role requires constant interaction with the work group and other departments at the primary work location. The position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality. Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Supervisor, the technician performs evaluations of ingredients and products in various stages of production, obtains samples, and evaluates them for weight, color, bake, etc. They also perform microbiological tests, make recommendations for processing, and originate and maintain accurate records. Additional duties include checking Metal Detectors, performing mathematical calculations, maintaining flour-tailing reports, training new Lab Technicians II, maintaining cleanliness of work areas, and complying with all company policies and procedures, including safety and work rules. The role also ensures adherence to internal and external food safety and quality policies and procedures.
