About The Position

Metromont LLC, a leader in the construction industry for nearly a century, is seeking a QC Technician/Inspector to join their dynamic team. Founded in 1925, Metromont is a third-generation company with nearly 1,500 associates across six manufacturing facilities. They specialize in the engineering and manufacturing of precast concrete, providing complementary design and engineering, hauling, erection, and field services. Customers rely on Metromont for innovative precast solutions and quality for various structures including parking structures, data centers, multifamily housing, office buildings, warehouses, schools, and stadiums.

Requirements

  • Ability to read blueprints, plans, and pick lists.
  • Able to read a tape measure to 1/16.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Basic reading, writing, math, and computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Able to adapt to changes in work schedules, tasks, or processes.
  • Values and demonstrates safe working behaviors.

Responsibilities

  • Testing concrete materials, plastic concrete, and concrete strength specimens.
  • Reading shop cards.
  • Conducting pre-pour and post-pour inspections.
  • Running lab equipment and hydraulic stress jacks.
  • Maintaining accurate records to ensure manufacturing meets PCI tolerances.
  • Checking paperwork and shop tickets for proper organization.
  • Completing pre-pour and post-pour inspections in the QC APP.
  • Recording product deficiencies in Concrete Vision and sending out Repair Details to the job coordinator.
  • Inspecting basic welds for size and quality.
  • Inspecting rebar for grade, steel type, and bend diameters.
  • Marking finished product with cast date, mark number, and job number.
  • Checking finished product for complete accuracy in accordance with job plans.
  • Assigning and placing appropriate PCI dot code on product as needed.
  • Testing aggregates.
  • Testing concrete (Conventional and SCC).
  • Conducting concrete strength tests.
  • Running or using all quality control equipment.
  • Performing simple low voltage electronic wiring for test equipment.
  • Adhering to all Metromont and OSHA safety rules and regulations.
