As a QC Technician within the Microbiology team, this role is responsible for supporting microbiological testing and routine laboratory operations within a cGMP-regulated environment. This role ensures timely and compliant execution of testing, environmental monitoring, and general lab upkeep to maintain a state of inspection readiness.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in QA or QC or related field
  • Understanding of microbiological techniques and contamination control principles
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations and aseptic practices
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Ability to work in controlled environments (e.g., cleanrooms)
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
  • Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards
  • Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed
  • Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology, or related scientific field (or equivalent experience)
  • 0-2+ years in a microbiology/QC lab, preferably within a cGMP environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine microbiological testing including, but not limited to: Sterility Testing, pH/osmo testing, Conductivity testing, Bioburden testing, Endotoxin testing (if applicable)
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the microbiology laboratory
  • Perform routine cleaning, sanitization, and disinfection of workspaces and equipment
  • Monitor and document environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, etc.)
  • Ensure laboratory supplies and media inventory are stocked and within expiry
  • Accurately document all activities in laboratory notebooks and electronic systems (e.g., LIMS)
  • Follow all cGMP, GDP, and data integrity requirements
  • Support deviations, investigations, CAPAs, and change controls as needed
  • Perform routine calibration, maintenance, and qualification support for lab equipment (e.g., incubators, autoclaves, particle counters)
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate as needed
