About The Position

Thompson Pipe Group is seeking a Quality Control Technician to join their Quality Control department. This role works alongside Production Operations to ensure the highest level of quality for Thompson Pipe Group – Precast products. The position will collaborate with various departments within the facility to ensure knowledge of, and compliance with, project-specific quality assurance requirements.

Requirements

Ability to Read Blueprints and Drawings for Products: Required
Understanding basic math skills: Required
Familiarity using tools and equipment associated with precast concrete production: Required

Nice To Haves

Precast concrete QC certification from ACI
Strength Testing: Preferred
ACPA Quality School or NPCA PQS I or PCI Level I : Preferred
Precast Concrete Experience or related field: 2 Years Preferred
Work-related experience and/or training in skilled trades: Preferred
Excel Experience: Preferred
Bilingual: Preferred

Responsibilities

Record product conformance to engineering and customer specifications through inspection and testing of rock, sand, concrete, and precast concrete products.
Record and maintain cylinder break records in accordance to quality control manual and ACPA requirements.
Inspect raw materials and fresh concrete while batching and after testing to confirm concrete qualities meet the finished product specifications.
Ensure proper mix designs are programmed and used for each product type.
Operate and maintain all quality testing equipment according to manuals.
Maintain documentation verifying that production and testing equipment has been properly and accurately calibrated in accordance with local standards.
Perform random inspection and documentation of wire cage fabrication.
Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections.
At times, expected to perform duties and tasks outside of job description to meet business needs.
