About The Position

The Quality Control Associate performs quality control (QC) functions, including checking pallets for construction integrity, identifying mispicks and misplaced cases. Quality Control Associate will also work with Inventory Control Clerks to correct all errors and rebuild pallets. This role involves reviewing individual orders to determine correct quantities, packing, and general accuracy of selected orders. The associate will complete required QC sampling and load audit forms, and consult with supervisors regarding any problems identified in the QC process, including quality issues not meeting standards and potential safety issues. The role also includes coaching selectors on job quality and efficiency, maintaining safe work practices, safeguarding confidential company information, investigating customer complaints, and performing driver check-in duties by reviewing customer invoices for accuracy. Additionally, the associate will evaluate product returns to determine if they are acceptable to be taken back.

Requirements

Must have Sit-Down forklift experience
A minimum of one 6 months to a year experience in QC role and/or product knowledge required.
PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write emails.
Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Ability to determine “root cause” of problem and determine corrective action.
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports.
Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.
Must be able to activate phone systems utilizing keyboards and buttons.
Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.
Regularly works in an indoor/office environment and required to sit and/or use repetitive hand motion.
Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.
Must be able to work more than continuous 8 hours when required.
Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and the ability to concentrate on more than one task at a time.
Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.
Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.
Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Nice To Haves

Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
Forklift certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Review individual orders to determine correct quantities, packing, and general accuracy of selected orders.

Involved in training for Inventory Control Clerks
Processes Damaged material, ensures Returned Goods are properly inventoried, and monitors Suspense inventory to make certain any/all is properly researched
Helps maintain proper procedures throughout the warehouse by bringing up incorrect practices to the necessary leadership
Ensures compliance with inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
