About The Position

The QC Lab Technician is responsible for collecting and removing test specimens from molds, preparing cylinders for curing tanks, and performing aggregate radiation tests. This role involves operating equipment such as cylinder tanks, hammers, and computers, and requires basic blueprint reading and computer literacy, particularly with Excel. The technician will also assist in testing wet concrete, making test specimens, and actively participating in the company's 6S, Lean, and Safety Programs. This position is primarily an outdoor role with a standard Monday-Friday, 8 am-4 pm schedule.

Requirements

• Advanced reading, writing, and math skills.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th.
• Basic blueprint and plans reading.
• Computer literate with experience in Excel.
• Precise with measurements.
• Accurate with data recording.
• Very detail-oriented to meet minimal specifications with precision.

Responsibilities

• Collect and remove test specimens from molds from the previous day.
• Remove cylinders that need to be broken down for curing tanks.
• Perform aggregate (rock/sand) radiations, including drying samples in an oven, running them through a splitter, weighing, and entering data into the system.
• Make 12x12 color samples as needed.
• Break tank specimens after drying and record breaks in the system.
• Assist in testing wet concrete (air, slump, temperature, and unit weight).
• Make test specimens (cylinders) as needed.
• Work as part of a team.
• Actively participate in the company's “6S”, “Lean” and Safety Programs.
