About The Position

RPM Industrial Coatings Group in Hudson, NC is looking for a 2nd Shift QC Technician. This role assists with the application and monitoring of established quality procedures and methods for production batches and new raw materials. The technician will compile, tabulate, and summarize QC data for analysis, and prepare and communicate variables and deviations from prescribed standards of quality. Responsibilities include maintaining statistical records related to quality, the nature and causes of defects in D365, and expediting and following up on changes to ensure prescribed quality standards are met.

Requirements

High school diploma
Proficient math and written communication skills
Good computer skills – knowledge of Excel required
Ability to work with limited supervision following written and verbal instructions

Nice To Haves

Up to three years in industry related QC field helpful
Prior batchmaking experience helpful
Successful completion of Munsel Color test, helpful
Familiarity with products used in batchmaking processes
Familiarity with standard analytical tools

Responsibilities

Check production batches by comparison to standards
Advise batchmaker of any necessary adjustments to apply to product batch
Recheck batch after adjustments are made until product is within standard product specifications
Use proper analytical tools to compare product to standard specifications and to wet and/or dry samples
Record results of comparison in D365
Consult with QC manager on products more than 10% out of product specifications
Upon approval of product record data in D365
Check bulk raw materials against standard product specifications upon receipt
Consult Quality control manual for specific requirements for product analysis of production batches as well as raw materials
Calibrate QC/QA equipment as required
Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
