About The Position

At Novonesis, our Quality Control team plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, quality, and reliability of microbial cultures used across the dairy, meat, and wine industries. As a QC Lab Technician I, you will help support the testing and release of fermentation bulk materials and finished goods while contributing to a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement. You will join a collaborative team of QC Lab Technicians, Lead Technicians, Media Technicians, and Lab Aides who work together to support laboratory operations and ensure our products meet the highest standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a strong foundation in microbiology and analytical laboratory practices while making an impact on products that help feed and sustain the world. As a QC Lab Technician I, you will perform routine microbiological and analytical testing to support product quality and regulatory compliance. This entry-level role is designed to develop your laboratory skills while giving you hands-on experience with production processes, quality systems, and testing methodologies in a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field or three years of full-time experience in a laboratory environment.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English for business purposes.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to follow established procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
  • Dependable and safety-minded approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous microbiology or analytical laboratory experience.
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems or manufacturing quality systems.
  • Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
  • Interest in microbiology, fermentation processes, and continuous learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine laboratory testing with a focus on accuracy, reliability, and proper execution of established test methods.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), compliance requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain sterility of media, equipment, and laboratory work areas.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of tests, evaluations, and analyses using company systems, including SAP and LIMS.
  • Collaborate with team members to support daily laboratory operations and participate actively in QC, project, and cross-functional meetings.
