About The Position

Teknor Apex is an international custom compounder with a history dating back to 1924. The company has grown from a small Rhode Island tire store to a global presence with nine U.S. locations and operations in Belgium, Singapore, Germany, and China. Teknor Apex remains a privately held company, emphasizing deep employee and customer relationships to deliver customized compound solutions. This role is for a QC Lab Technician B on the night shift.

Requirements

Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Ability to multitask; follow procedures exactly and precisely.
Ability to work in a timely manner and without direct supervision.
Good written and verbal communication as well as math and computer skills.
Good mechanical skills.
Must operate Absolute Haitian Injection molding machine, Brabender extruders, Instron Tensile testing machine, Capillary Rheometers, Hardness Testing machine and other related lab testing equipment.
Must be flexible to work overtime and on any other shift on a “need to” basis.
Must have a good attendance record and continue to demonstrate it.
Must be 18 years of age to work at Teknor Apex.

Nice To Haves

Basic Math calculations relating to procedures and test results.
Good written and verbal communication.
Data entry/logging skills.
Proficiency with computers.
Basic SPC skills.

Responsibilities

Verification of test results against in-process and final specifications as outlined in the ERP system.
Legibly document production test results and information on required paperwork, into SPC tools, spreadsheets, and the ERP System.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Monitor personal safety along with the safety of other team members.
Performs assigned tasks in a prioritized, logical, and timely manner, keeping in line with company/laboratory policies regarding procedures and safety.
Supports ISO compliance during internal and external audits.
