QC Inventory Technician - Site Services

About The Position

In this role, you will report to the Site Services Supervisor and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel – and our customers – to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED is required
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. required
  • Ability to stand/sit for various lengths of time
  • Some work areas require donning of extreme cold temperature protective clothing (jackets, gloves, etc.).
  • Wearing of safety-toe footwear, safety glasses, and other customer-defined protective garments will be required in specific work areas
  • Computer literacy, including intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, is required
  • Conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, health and safety issues, and security clearances required
  • Strong communication required
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills; display a professional can-do demeanor required
  • Perform duties with the highest regard for safety and quality required
  • Must be flexible, forward- thinking, motivated, and have the ability to act independently required
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1+ year of inventory replenishment or material handling experience is preferred.
  • Spill containment training, IATA, DOT, IMDG, and OSHA Right to Know experience is desired
  • Cross-referencing and inside sales experience desired
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly desired
  • A strong work ethic and (initiative)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate orders for consumable lab inventory replenishment
  • Manage customers’ point of use or stockroom inventory
  • Responsible for logistical activities such as shipping and receiving of materials through coordination with 3rd party couriers.
  • May handle and manage chemicals, including hazardous materials.
  • Training on forklift operations/safety may be required.
  • Basic order entry and follow-up on existing backorders.
  • Maintain and check safety stations.
  • Update and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
  • Cleanroom garment management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • The expected pre-tax pay for this position is $35,500.00 - $56,925.00
