About The Position

Nucor Towers & Structures is hiring a QC Inspector in Decatur, Alabama. The role verifies and documents that finished products meet customer specifications and AWS D1.1 requirements. The Inspector performs dimensional layouts and visual weld inspections in accordance with quality inspection procedures and documents all inspections on the appropriate forms. Safety is a priority, and the successful candidate must be able to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Requirements

Experience in blueprint reading and layout.
Ability to achieve ASNT SNT-TC-1A VT Level II or AWS CWI certification.
SNT-TC-1A UT Shearwave Level II certification or a record of required classroom training and on-the-job training.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge and experience with manufacturing steel transmission/distribution monopole structures.
Experience in blueprint reading and layout.
MT Yoke Level II experience.
Experience with galvanizing and coatings inspections.
Knowledge and experience with weld inspection to AWS D1.1 requirements.
Goal-oriented, with a drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Verify that finished products comply with customer specifications and AWS D1.1.
Document product compliance and inspection results on the appropriate forms.
Perform dimensional layouts.
Conduct visual weld inspections on all welds in accordance with quality inspection procedures.
Initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
