About The Position

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, a subsidiary of Johnson Controls, is seeking a Quality Control Inspector specializing in welding for their facility in Nisku. This role is responsible for the direct examination of products to ensure they meet quality standards, legislation, and customer specifications. The inspector must adhere strictly to quality assurance procedures, identify defects, and prevent non-conforming materials from entering the supply chain. This position requires a high level of attention to detail and specific welding inspection endorsements.

Requirements

  • Level 1 CSA 178.2 W59/W47 endorsements required.
  • 1-3 years of quality control experience in an organization with an established quality program.
  • Some formal or practical exposure to quality control concepts.
  • Ability to read shop drawings.
  • Practical experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, detail-oriented, capable of multi-tasking, and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage change on the floor and work well with shift supervisors.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Strong welding background.

Responsibilities

  • Daily inspection of in-process units to ensure sealing is completed, no missing parts, and overall high quality.
  • Daily inspection of paperwork for all in-process units and reporting any deficiencies to the Quality Supervisor.
  • Complete sub-assembly inspections (motor, coil, evap., furnace, and paint).
  • Complete unit final inspections.
  • Review inspection documents and assemble unit packages.
  • Report any observed safety issues to the Safety Coach or Safety Coordinator.
  • Assist with the education of other inspectors and the production team.
  • Inspect drawings and marking/breaking work to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist with marking Engineering changes where drawings are not correct and submit to the Quality Supervisor.
  • Inspect all aspects of units using appropriate forms from start to finish and record all discrepancies.
  • Organize all inspection documentation papers and online photos.
  • Inspect all welded carbon steel and aluminum parts to meet code.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.
  • Other duties as required.
