About The Position

Wood is recruiting for a Quality Inspector – CWI with experience with outage projects focusing on the conventional power industry. This opportunity offers an onsite work arrangement based in Panama City, FL The Quality Inspector will be responsible for overseeing contractor installations and fabrications, conducting visual inspections according to applicable codes and standards. Experience in preparing detailed and project-specific inspection reports, as well as proficiency in software programs like Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe, is required. Additionally, certifications in API/AWS inspection disciplines and strong communication and teamwork skills are essential. You will be working in confined spaces and/or at heights, as well as noisy conditions. Work may be indoors or outdoors, and at extreme temperatures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 7 years Quality Control construction experience required.
  • Certification in API / AWS inspection disciplines required (API 510, API 653, and AWS CWI).
  • OSHA 10 certification at a minimum; prefer OSHA 30.
  • Working knowledge of principles and practices of mechanical engineering, design and construction, engineering survey principles, trends, techniques, mathematics, and compliance.
  • Working knowledge of Quality Control processes and procedures related to project construction.
  • Persistent and inquisitive in the pursuit of information; obtains all relevant facts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with good vocabulary and grammar; excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one situations; ability to interact and communicate with all levels of staff and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential or sensitive information or issues.
  • Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledgeable in Codes specific to the conventional power industry.
  • Surveillance of contractor’s installations, fabrications, and other identified field work.
  • Able to read blueprints, ISOs, and PI&D’s
  • Executes visual inspections per Code, drawings, and other applicable standards.
  • Able to prepare detailed and project specific inspection reports and other documents as requested.
  • Knowledge in computer programs such as Microsoft Office 365, Adobe and other project specific software platforms as required.
  • Proactively develops and reviews Inspection and Test Plans and any other quality documents for applicability, when required.
  • Knowledgeable in use of Quality Inspection tools and calibration requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in storage and preservation of equipment.
  • Knowledgeable of installation and setting of equipment.
